MHP works with communities to create innovative policy and financing solutions that provide affordable homes and better lives for the people of Massachusetts. We do this in four main ways:
Provide support, training and technical assistance to help communities and housing authorities.
Use bank lines of credit and other capital sources to provide long-term financing for affordable rental housing.
Partner with over 40 lenders to offer the ONE Mortgage Program for first-time homebuyers.
Provide data, research and easy-to-use tools to better inform local and state leaders about housing needs and solutions.
MHP is governed by a seven-member board of directors. Two are appointed by the governor, two are cabinet secretaries or their designates and three are nominated by the Massachusetts Bankers Association.
